What defines Quality furniture? Here are some facts and myths.
At Jools our lounge manufacturers always use stainless steel staples, (mild steel staples, as commonly used, just rust away up in the tropics!)
Seating foams are always Premium Quality – usually with a 10 year Warranty – none of those soft, saggy foams seen on new lounges in chain stores!
All too many furniture stores sell lounges and furniture containing chipboard (particle board). Our customers are astute enough to recognize that, for just a small premium, they can have furniture constructed from solid timbers which will give many years of service. This is particularly important in the frames of sofas as chipboard has no lateral strength and it is very common for the chipboard ‘backbone' to be broken in transit.
‘Leather where it counts', means leather facings with the rest in colour matched vinyl.
Lounges are often upholstered in ‘man made' leather! Real leather comes from the skins of any animal, reptile, bird or fish – by a process called tanning. ‘Man made leather is vinyl embossed and coloured to look like real cow leather. We find that many people who think that leather is too hot for the tropics have previously had this vinyl ‘man made leather', which is unbearably hot and sweaty in the tropics.
Leather comes in many grades and from numerous countries. We are happy to talk with you regarding your options and trust that our advice will help to steer you away from some of the pitfalls.
